  • HOMEWORK on 3/7: Answer two questions for pp. 49-55 & read "The First Job" (pp. 53-55)
    • 1. Why does the author juxtapose the talk about hips (and the girls' emerging sexuality) with the jumprope songs?  What effect does this have?
    • 2. What does Esperanza mean when she says, "She [Nenny] is in a world we don't belong to anymore"?
  • HOMEWORK on 3/8: Finish "Papa Who Wakes Up Tired in the Dark" Journal - Write about a time when you've experienced a role reversal, VOCAB QUIZ on THURSDAY 
  • HOMEWORK on 3/9-3/10: Study for Unit 8 Vocab Quiz on Thursday, Revised Resume #2 due on Monday, 3/14 (with graded resume #1 attached)
